heart, mind and soul
so that we would
know You
You gave us nine gifts to
teach us
heal us
protect us
from the one who
breaches our
Innocence to
steal us
kill us
destroy us
physically
emotionally
spiritually
not with horns
but with a
veneer of
irresistible
experiential mirror
all the right
words and acts
to keep us
blinded
deafened
broken
damaged
hopeless
convinced
isolated
exploited
imprisoned
blurring lines
repelling Light
βFor we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.β Ephesiansβ¬ β6β¬:β12β¬ βNKJV
But You already knew
that we would be
hijacked by
fear
doubt
hurt
deceit
mistrust
deviance
so You gave us
Your mighty weapon
to fight back
Discernment
seeing
knowing
hearing the call
to repel the arrows
to stand between
Innocence
and malintent
no matter what
the cost because
Your promise is
our shield
Your Word is
our sword
Your Love is
our heartbeat
May we be brave
enough to withstand
the attacks and
bold enough to
battle against the
legions of archers
of this world.
