Ode to Jay Kantor

Jay wants you to know he's okay.

By Rachel DeemingPublished about a year ago 1 min read

There is a guy called Jay,

Who emailed to say "Hey!

I'm laid up at the mo

And feeling pretty low.

I want my Vocalites

To know that I'm alright.

Say, RD, let them know:

I'm thinking in an ode?"

(You're right, that line's not his

But the essence sort of is).

And so you Vocal folks,

Jay would be pretty stoked

If you could drop a line

To see if he is fine.

He misses you a load

It's been a rocky road

But he thinks he's back on track

And hopes to be right back

With witty, quirky writes

To glitter on this site.

So let us wish him well

It really would be swell

To show him how we care

And noticed he's not there.

Jay's friends - not all of them but a selection

Kelli Sheckler - Paul Stewart - John Cox - Mark Gagnon - Carol Townend - L.C. Schafer - Denise E. Lindquist -

Margaret Brennan - Judey Kalchik - Andrea Corwin - C. Rommial Butler - Tina D 'Angelo - Novel Allen - The Invisible Writer - Kenny Penn - Cindy Calder - Caroline Craven - Celia (and the paws) - Melissa Ingoldsby

- Pam Holte - Hannah Moore - Lindsey Altom - J Baz - RM Stockton - Heather Zieffle - Hannah E. Arron -

- Grz Colm - Joe O' Connor - The Rock - Lacy Loar Gruenler - Donna Renee - Mariann Carroll - Babs Iverson - Brenda Fluharty - Erica Wagner - Gina C. ....

And me!!!

And all the other people who may have been inadvertently missed who Jay interacts with on Vocal - I mean, the man did fall and he is in hospital so please forgive him (and me) if your name's not above.

Hi Rachel, something weird happened to Jay's profile here on Vocal. Do you know if it got hijacked or he did republish his 57 stories on purpose?

Dear Rachel - A little late for the party but, 'I'm Back' with vigor, and so at a loss for words. Thank you, Rd - I'm truly overwhelmed..! Such a beautiful flowing poem ~ But why no TOP wit/this one? How Bitchin' R/U'z...! It is just so amazing that the 'VocalVillageBucket' is truly a Global community with real reach-out support for all; who says 'Virtual friends' can't be real friends. I've also heard from so many from the VSS site; you just can't imagine how much that meant to me as well! It's so lovely to hear from people who don't even speak the same language that 'relate' to our stories - how cool is that..! That's all the inspiration most of us need just-to-write because we can. After all, it doesn't really pay well...Hmm! You made me feel silly today - to finally get my mind offa me - I'm so grateful for that! I will pass on your kindness..! Jbud in.l.a.

I've been out of touch for a few weeks now and had no idea Jay-Bud did a Humpty Dumpty. I did that in March and I feel his pain. Get better soon brother!

Awwww. Love the balance of humour here Rachel, and I do hope Jay is starting to feel better! I like how “real” he is in his comments, even if only through a screen. Wishing him a speedy and safe recovery xx
