Ode To A Dishwasher
For The Vocal Ode To Ordinary

Introduction
The challenge refers to the form being an Ode but doesn't specify that it has to use the Ode format. Of course, I will make sure that mine uses an Ode format, here is the Wikipedia definition which should give you an idea.
The Prompt
Write an ode to an ordinary object.

I am going to base it on this Pindaric Ode as I cannot really find a great definition of the form, though I believe I have tried it before. Essentially an Ode is meant to be a poem of praise. I know using a defined form will bar it from being chosen for the challenge but that is the way I roll (this is a joke Vocal, honest ๐).
The music is "Wash, Mama, Wash" by Dr. John which refers to washing clothes but it is a great song.

Aye, I Used To Be Our Dishwasher
And Then We Got A Mechanical One
Now That's The Way Our Dishes Are Done
Suppose I Feel A Little Bit Posher

Washes Dirty Dishes Overnight
Crockery Well Cleaned Feels So Right
When I Hear It Purring In The Background
That Is Such A Lovely Sound
Put Glasses In, They Come Out Clean And Clear

Oooo, a Pindaric ode. This was awesomeeee!
Fantastic ode, Mike!!
Great Ode!! ๐
Love it, Rick. Whether loading the dishwasher or washing by hand, washing dishes is one of the few things I do well.
Good choice Mike!
I remember when only the wealthy had dishwashers and for the rest of us it was a children's chore. Nicely done :)
Kudos both for your fixed-form structure and the choice of object. Very well-wrought ode!
I really enjoyed reading this poem, Mike!
Well done!!!
A great subject choice and of course, well written.
Haha. That's great.
When I was a kid we had 2 machines for dishwashing. I was machine 1-the washer, and my brother was machine 2-the dryer. My parents never got the third kind until I moved out.
Great one! I hate washing dishes by hand. My dishwasher is a lifesaver!
I love the musicality on your stories! This is beyond cute! I've recently come into ownership of a dishwasher for the first time in my parenting career. Total game-changer from hand-washing! I applaud this ode!
Well done! Bravo!
