No matter the storm.

In the lingering of darkness, seeking hope in the midst of night,

The despair, the loss, yearning for the daylight,

The revelation before the morning, the sorrows of yesterday,

With constant attacks and scorning, the curses that my enemies say,

The world has changed so drastically, the divided lines to draw,

The misconstruing of what was said, the denial of what we saw,

Seen each day as ill news, points and shifting blame,

The hypocrisy, the denial, a nations path to shame,

The fear of tomorrow, the lack of heart or care,

Shunning of our sorrows, tears, the refusal to stare,

Devoid of mercy, no compassion, the scent of sweat and fear,

Yet, despite the constant mourning, the pathway forward in the day is clear,

Courage, strength, a held high despite it all,

Persistence, endurance, steadfast resolve to never fall,

Though the world tears apart, and factions would divide for a while,

I hold my head high, relay kindness, and greet others with a confident smile!
