Empathize.

I know what your enduring, the struggle and the strife,

The pains of every day, the burdens of what’s called life,

Your distress and your anxiety, your pain and your despair,

But from a friend, I want you to know, that I care.

It’s in these moments each passing day, where we scatter our seed,

Our hearts in downcast by the storm, avoiding what we need,

Times and seasons come and go, we faithfully play our part,

But stand up straight, pick yourself up, and above all else, guard your heart.

Such moments aren’t without reason, despite the constant pain,

We look around and wonder as to what we have to gain?

But in such times of discord when it seems like we shouldn’t even try,

We raise our head from sorrow, and hold our heads up high,

It’s in these moments each passing day, where we scatter our seed,

Our hearts in downcast by the storm, avoiding what we need,

Times and seasons come and go, we faithfully play our part,

But stand up straight, pick yourself up, and above all else, guard your heart.

Your going through a though time, the battle lines seem drawn,

But darkness always comes before the rising of the sun at dawn.

It’s in these moments each passing day, where we scatter our seed,
