Nessie
A Sonnet about the Loch Ness Monster Inspired By A Painting By Kirsten Hel

Introduction
I have just returned from an excellent weekend in Inverness, which included a trip out on the Loch.
Our wonderful hostess, Susan, showed us this wonderful painting of "Nessie" by Kirsten Hel, a local artist, saying that although people search for "Nessie" every day, "Nessie" knows how to keep out of sight and keep the mystery, and this painting is the embodiment of the story.
These are Kirsten's Facebook and Etsy sites:
The music is "Water Beastie" by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band from "Rock Drill"

Iβm glad that I saw this on your Instagram; I missed it the first time around. Itβs a lovely poem about a wonderful myth (or is it? π€), and it matches the accompanying illustration perfectly.
Lovely. Simply, lovely. Nessie is a smart creature. He knows he would be at risk if he lets a pair of human predator eyes see him. Smart a creature. I loved the poem. You should send it to that lovely host named Susan (π) and perhaps she could add your poem next to the painting (similar to a Haibun). It would be lovely to complement the painting, which is beautiful.
I love the information, story, and poetry all woven into four tight stanzas
What a beautifully eerie tribute to Nessie! I love the rhythm and mysteryβmakes me want to visit the loch myself.
The gentle, timid beast of many a wandering imagination.
Who knows Nessie could be real in some way. Who says what is really underneath the sea so large for one may come close enough to catch a glimpse.
I knew our write about the old Nessie!
I think Nessie is one reason why Scotland gets so many tourists for they all want to get photographs. Good job on the poem.
