I was hesitant when we met
Wondering who you were,
All I see is a lot of blustering
I’ll let my judgement defer.
***
I feel you’re more pretence
But I’m trying not to judge,
First impressions stick hard
I’ll attempt to give it a nudge.
***
Are you really so arrogant
As you’re trying to portray,
I’m working hard here
To push away all you convey.
***
I want to give you a chance
And the benefit of my doubt,
You are not making it easy
With the bullshit you sprout.
***
Okay I’m going to give up
You’d rather I see you true,
You are no more or less
Than others I once knew.
***
I realised you’re no good
So I’m going to put it bluntly,
I stayed because my wolves
Inside me were hungry!

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
