She replied,

"They're your family love them no matter what, It's the only one you've got"

My Thoughts

With a phlegmatic demeanor, shook my shoulders with sheer callousness

Truth be known she was right

Informed her of a text I received from my Mother on Father's Day

Two sentences riddled with ostentatious passive aggressive display of duty

"Wish I had a toxicity screening text app for moments like these"

She laughs, almost choked on taco salad from our favorite Mexican restaurant

"Between your mom and my mom - I don't know which is worse"

Haven't spoken to the woman in so long

Perhaps the text was payback for the card on Mother's Day

But renounced damn near decapitated the thought of live dialogue

Last conversation informed her of my brush with death due to addiction

Fitting that she would capitalize on my frailty with a backhanded Father's Day greeting

Touche!!!
