Earth has Father Sun and Mother Moon,
Curious Givers of such a Light Festoon.
Launching off in patterns, sparks, and phases,
I (earth) am left to wonder...this spectacle amazes.
Partitioning Sun's time, Mama Moon steps hence,
Surrounds me with totality, in her motherly defense.
Eternally as strong as Father Sun and without pretense.

Although Fathers are oftentimes portrayed as strong and bold, Mothers are usually seen as being in the background providing care and nurture. But there are times when Mother is even stronger, even in her muted light. There are some things that a child can only tell their mother, where their secrets and dreams are best kept. Beautiful imagery. The first original artwork I ever bought was a pair of prints of 'Man holding the sun' and 'Woman holding the moon' which I still have and this acrostic evokes the same feeling of wholeness. Thanks for sharing and well done. Good luck in the challenge.

I love the direction and angle you took with this one, Shirley. Would never have considered that actually. Loved the rhymes and the whole concept, thought and execution. Sterling work, really! I really love the final line...because I think that really highlights the mother's role and how they often do it without all the attention and accolades that dads get. (Even when dads deserve it...the mother usually equally or more so deserves it.)
