Mosquito Flight 188

MOSQUITO FLIGHT 188

A Saturday night at a barbeque

and now history in aviation

a flight that was destined for trouble

and ending in devastation.

The trip departed smoothly

but had an unfortunate fate

this is the journey and the story

of Mosquito Flight 188.

The sun was setting toward dusk

the conditions was classified as extreme

with both engines on full throttle

I could hear them starting to scream.

Flight 188 had hit the skies

an operation with a mission

entering potential airspace

and searching for a position.

The heat seeking radar was engaged

and it kept a steady hand

engines switched to reverse thrust

and prepared itself to land.

The fuselage came down hard

yet the landing was proficient and quick

to forage through my forearm hairs

and apply a piercing prick.

The operation didn’t take long

to draw the liquid yet hide

with a cargo belly fully loaded

of my stolen blood inside.

The heavy laden vessel

was bulging full of freight

this could be the missing answer

to Mosquito Flight 188.

The wings were flapping profusely

to lift a body that was plump and round

struggling to take off into the air

yes too heavy to get off the ground.

Finally airborne and flying

disengaged and released from my skin

navigating an ascending exit

and narrowly missing my chin.

With engines on full thrust

it had escaped that terrible mess

Flight 188 had miraculously survived

and was flying toward success.

Then came the mid flight trouble

it was surprised and left in dismay

my friend stepped out with a big red can

and triggered the mozzie spray.

Suddenly both engines were stalling

the plane began to dive and break

the deadly floating droplets

shot down Mosquito Flight 188.
