Moonlit

Summer Love

Comforted, by the breeze, under the moon.

Somehow, the calm summer night brings me back.

Fall leaves, like jackets on trees, will come soon.

For now, they wear green, sleeveless and relaxed.

It feels like that night, I gave you, my heart.

Your eyes were like moonlight; your voice, like the breeze.

It felt right but, then it all fell apart.

The days got cold and the dream was a tease.

I know to soak up the sun tomorrow.

The glowing moon is all there is tonight.

I know this warm embrace will have to go.

I’m loved again under the golden light.

I’ll thank the skies for a brief smile.

Born to feel free and be held for a while.
