Missing you

A widow’s reflection

By Cheryl E PrestonPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In memory of my one true love Michael Lynn Preston Sr.

To my right the pew is empty, null and void now an empty space

How I long for your presence and to see the glory of Heaven on your face

No longer a hand to hold during prayer nor fingers to clasp in my own

Just to feel your leg gently touching mine It hurts to sit in service alone

Forty-five years together then poof as if you did not exist

I won't forget you and move on as some others insist

For better for worse in sickness and health until death us did part

I still love you and miss you and forever you will remain in my heart

heartbreak
