Memory Day
Blue Mixed With Gray

Ventured out today
We wanted to play
Saw new places
and different faces
Found our wedding site
without mosquito bites
today
Overlooking lake,
a nice little break
from the monsoon rains
that didn’t let up
yesterday

The sun warmed the day
and blue mixed with gray
Today
*
To gold and green plains
Blue mixed with gray
The journey we took
gave us superb looks
of outdoor wide spaces
those of dogsled races
Not my sport, it’s just
that the land traces
my heart
❤️
Returned to the wilderness
lodge where we committed,
now thirty seven years we’ve knitted.
From yesterday monsoon rains
to gold and green plains
Blue mixed with gray
for our memory day.

well done
I like that part - now 37 years we’ve knitted. It’s a great way to talk about the intricate weaving of life and relationships
What a wonderful day to share in a poem!
Climate change is so apparent in anchorage. Cloudy weather is our forte but drenching long- lived rainfall is not. So being an oyster was a good idea and the return to clouds with peeking sun was welcome. Congratulations on all those event-filled years of exploration and abundant experiences together
How lovely! Shining memories, palpable emotions 😊
Absolutely amazing!!
Oh wow, Andrea, such a beautiful ode to both nature and love!
What a way to celebrate and remember your anniversary. Great work.
Happy anniversary! I like the repetition of blue and gray and that photo - what a spot to get wed! That little bit of humour too in it adds to its warmth.
This made me imagine the wedding in such a gorgeous and natural setting. The images would turn out quite nicely. I loved your poem Andrea!
Awww, this was so sweet, beautiful and nostalgic! Loved your poem and photos!
Nature brings me so much peace and joy, lovely pictures! Beautiful poem, Andrea! 💌
