The light of day, may it not fade

Though pollen flutters to the ground

Let not the May Queen fade to gray

.

Dance, my darlings, as spritely fae

The birds and bees have come to town

The light of day, may it not fade

.

A finer world’s been kept at bay

Leaves unfurl green petticoats down

Let not the May Queen fade to gray

.

Fireflies join the masquerade

Whispers linger and crickets sound

The light of day, may it not fade

.

Sing, one and all, your fortunes made

Disregard disquieting hounds

Let not the May Queen fade to gray

.

No pleas for help on this May Day

Dreary winter, let snowflakes drown

The light of day, may it not fade

Let not the May Queen fade to gray

Love it, it's so soft and heartfelt, more like a song than a poem!😊
