Man’s Best Friend

Painting poetry

By C.Z.Published about a year ago 1 min read

Standing guard through the centuries

At the foot of the bed no less

Ever eager, just to please

~

He’ll play and make a mess

But how much he loves you

You’ll never have to guess

~

Unmistakably, a friend forever true

He will rise to your defense

Against a man or a tiny shrew

~

Trust him too, and in his sense

Of all that’s good or bad

Notice to whom he takes offense

~

Man’s best friend, the best I’ve had

Immortalized in oil paint

Standing by me forever, both of us glad

~~~
