Make it Through

Poetic hope for Israel and Palestine

By Joe PattersonPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

Every night in Israel and Palestine the children of valentines become victims of battle lines.

All they see is destruction and death. Infants taking a final breath, all gone there’s nothing left.

Innocent children should hear lullabies at night. Never the cries at night of innocent people who die at night.

We’ll tear the world down to make it new. I pray it’s true because I want the innocent people to make it through.

One day the bullets will cease and the sun will shine on a world where everyone is fine.

We’re gonna make it. Everyone will survive with communities unified, alive and ready to thrive.

I have faith that the bullets will cease. From west to east I declare that there will be peace.

No more pain. No more innocence children slain and no more of God’s children dying in vain while the living go insane.

No more wounds that cut deep. Only peaceful after hours of which our children will sleep.

The Israeli and Palestinian children will wake up to a new day when they can sit together and play.

The unity between the two will make the world more kind. Evil will be left behind and peace won’t be hard to find.

There won’t be anymore fear that the world is over. The sun will shine on us again when the storm is over.

I have faith that what I say is true. Nothing and no one will ever convince me that we won’t make it through.

~~Dedicated to Israel and Palestine.
