The Ring of Brodgar (or Brogar, or Ring o' Brodgar) is a Neolithic henge and stone circle about 6 miles north-east of Stromness on Mainland, the largest island in Orkney

To See The White Hare's Trail Of Stars
Magic At The Ring Of Brodgar
On Mainland Orkney, North This Far
There Are Some That Call It Brogar
And A Sacrificial Altar
That Is In These Standing Stones Carved

By Tools And Skill Were These Stones Carved
To Stand Here Under The Night's Stars
And Here Is Nature's Fine Altar
Amid The Standing Stones Of Brodgar
That Some Will Tell You Is Brogar
Running White Hare Has Come So Far

Druids And Witches Travel Far
To See The Symbols That Are Carved
In The Stone Circle At Brogar
And Watch The White Hare Spread Its Stars
'Tis A Magical Place, Brodgar
Holy Place With Pagan Altar

Was Wotan Seen At This Altar
By Vikings Who Had Sailed So Far?
Was It They Who Called It Brodgar?
To House The Work That They Had Carved
In The Darkest Nights Lit By Stars
By North Sea Waters In Brogar

Did Orcadians Build Brogar
To Be The Home For Their Altar?
For White Hare To Shed Magic Stars
That Magic Beast Travelled So Far
To Stone By Orcadians Carved
The Standing Circle Of Brodgar

And One May Walk Into Brodgar
And One May Walk Out Of Brogar
And May Feel Their Consciousness Carved
They May Kneel At Wotan's Altar
Skara Brae Is Not Very Far
From This Stone Circle Under Stars

What a beautiful, mystical poem to go with another beautiful, mystical painting. I loved it so much that I had to mention it on the Raise Your Voice Thread (maybe they'll actually put it up for a Top Story this time).
