theres a beauty in growth that you forget to see. this is because you are so busy comparing yourself to others. the pretty girl on your instagram timeline with the perfect hourglass figure. the girl that looks like she has a seemingly perfect life. has it all together. nothing apart.
as much as you don't want to admit it that girl is not you. you have growth to do. to you growth has a negative feeling. something that makes you feel like you aren't good enough. the truth is you have growing to do this year. you know this. this is not a bad thing though. think this way.
you, right now, are just a seedling. a sprout even. just barely peeking through the dirt and soil. you have so much ahead of you. look how much room there is for beautiful growth. you will soon take shape like a tree.
when trees grow they start small. how you are right now. small, fragile, scared of whats ahead. then you start to grow, slowly but surely, and you start to stand tall. your foundation firm like the ground underneath you. look at how far you have come.
you continue to grow every day that this year has for you. 365 new days of growth, beauty, and inspiration. you start to focus on what benefits you. the sun, fresh air, health, and nutrients. you begin to see yourself branch off and see all of the things that make you unique. each branch on this tree has a different meaning to who you are. the perfections and the imperfections.
you now compare your personal growth to the growth of a tree and no longer that pretty girl on your instagram timeline who you've always wanted to be. you see yourself for who you really are. a girl beautiful in her own ways with a heart full of sunshine and a brain full of knowledge and positivity to spread to others. this year is your year to grow.
i hope that when you see the beautiful trees you pass every day they remind you of how far you have come and how much more you have in you.
