Lightweight Monolog Over a Chicken Nugget Dinner

I tried to put into words one of my favorite nights with him.

By C. F.Published 7 years ago 1 min read

My muscles are weak

I only had one glass

Strange isn’t it?

But I like the feeling

You tell me you can’t wait

to spend the rest of our lives together

You apologize for blurting it out

But I like the feeling

of how you call me yours

in the most gentle way

The caress of a future filled with love

Fills me with joy of the present

And so I look ahead with blushed cheeks

Another glass of wine in hand

You quietly stuff a nugget in your mouth

One glass

One bottle

We’re lightweights aren’t we?

But I love the feeling

of you

And I can’t wait either
