Life in a Champagne Toast

Looking back on life, I see bittersweet experiences in life’s transitioning phases. What colors do you remember in those pivotal moments?

Life in a champagne toast

I dared you,

you were emotion’s flickering flame,

I’m in awe of your passion,

you were bittersweet peaches at sunset on my grandma’s porch,

that night of everlasting thunder and rain in the southern breeze,

and just like the storm you would roam and change,

A quick glance of a smoked burgundy memory would unfold,

It was such a hazy moment to recall,

There, love of two cashmere shades would apologize,

You could feel trust in the context,

The lingering mood gave life to a space where once nothing was left,

Leaves would float in the background of dreams unfulfilled,

In those eyes was a kaleidoscope on stage,

My life was a-changin' but my heart beat in depth for you,

Like an array of multiple blue’s, that would clash like waves in the sea,

Each beating moment in color is not only where I would breathe, it was where I would be ,
