A poet, a painter, a prophet of peace,
A soul that yearned for the world's release.
From Lebanon, a land of strife,
He sought a path to a better life.
With words of wisdom, he touched our hearts,
With images of beauty, he played his parts.
In "The Prophet," he spoke of love and pain,
Of joy and sorrow, of gain and gain.
He taught us to embrace our fears,
To cherish life, through the passing years.
To find our true selves, beneath the mask,
To break free from chains, and never ask.
For happiness, not in wealth or fame,
But in the spirit, that burns like flame.
In love and kindness, in peace and grace,
In the beauty of nature's embrace.
So let us remember, this man of light,
Whose words still guide us, through the night.
A beacon of hope, in a world of strife,
Khalil Gibran, a poet of life.
