Joys of Life

Darkness Delays

By Crystal NealPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In the darkest of days, joy shines through cautiously

Like a snake slithering through the grass

With poised ease as it seeks it prey

Hope takes a measured gasp with sunbeams that shine down

Guiding the light to a small beast

In an instant, the snake launches to attack

Does hope die then?

No, the small beast gets away unscathed

It lives another day though darkness lingers never far

Joy shouts I am alive to meet another day

Therefore the small creature can go evermore hopeful

So shall we go, full of hope even if darkness slowly follows.
