your inner tube floats
slowly deflating
gently warmed
by the outstretched arms of a sun-soaked holiday
your generous smile glistens
you consider me home
and I am right there with you
your sopping-wet ginger curls
dipping bobbling slipping into a spill of sapphire
where robins egg meets sky
you are infinity
and I am beyond
happy
west of here
tonight
drums and rum
will linger
the call
impossible to resist
last night’s crew
sleepy-headed lions
stretching immaculately sculpted long sleek bodies
hearts beating
thirsts
being satiated
hunger
yearning to laugh and live
wild
free
all of us
becoming
ourselves
becoming
friends across the firelight
all of us
blissfully adrift in a Mai Tai mist
we dance waxy starboard decks
beneath a radiant blur of party light strings
lost
and found
in the sparkling
being

Christy your poem beautifully captures the essence of friendship, adventure, and the joy of being fully present in the moment. I wish I had such a lovely holiday. you have described it in a very sweet way.....💖❤
