It Sounds So Shallow To Refer To You As My Phone
Ode To My Social Connection
There was a time, that we were parted,
I'd leave you on the wall, at home.
But these days, you're highly regarded,
it's near neglect, to leave you alone.
*
You make sure I am up by 5,
keep my routine, in check.
Track my heart, keep me alive.
without you, I am a wreck.
*
You help me write, find words that rhyme,
keep my schedule, right on time.
Like a best friend, keep the directions close,
tell me which way I should go.
*
You navigate and give me tips,
a faithful sidekick on road trips.
I don't know how I got along,
before, when I left you at home.
*
I may be out with other friends,
still you ding, as a reminder.
That other friendships clearly depend,
on talking with each other.
*
But you keep my favorite music queued,
so, I always step in beat.
And when a new show needs reviewed,
you binge them all with me.
*
Yeah, I may call you cell phone,
or my cellular device.
But you and I both know,
having you with me, really saves my life.
*
I'm never really alone,
I can even speak your name.
Siri, you are more than just a phone,
I should give you my surname.

Great job, Beat me to the punch 😉💯😊👀🤣❗
That last line 😊. “You help me write, find words that rhyme.” So true. Not at all shallow. It can bring pain, obsession, many unsavory things and yet it still provides so much. Writing, music, connection. Great work.
👏😊What a trusty friend! I think we would all be a little lost without!
They really have become almost an extra appendage to us. We have android so we don't have Siri. We call her "Priscilla, Queen of the Destination".
