The verge of leaving, that girl behind,
lost in the wonder, of her child.
Finding the courage to cross those lines,
from innocence into, the fray of the wild.
Naive, the best definition,
she had no clue how good it was.
Being lost in this transition,
only now, she wishes, for a pause.
Summertime brought her to the beaches,
cruising, with the windows down.
Those summer nights, the favorite teacher,
suntan lines, and music loud.
Curfews and a flashing porch light,
no time to tell the right from wrong.
Forget responsibilities tonight,
turn on her favorite summer song!
Summer lovin'
