It's Getting Close

Quietly Waiting

Love's beauty and pain can be found in its silence.

its transforming power seeps like water, through cracks

It can grow over time, in the midst of an absence,

filling the void, of what another one lacks

*

When thoughts start to wander

My worries unravel

Disengaged, as a gear, fragile memories ponder

to wonder down paths yet discovered, untraveled

*

Mere vapor, we are

cast in essence, we mingle

Reshaping our thoughts, of tomorrows and stars

forgetting today, with the unknown, we struggle

Carry the distance, like the strum of guitars

*

Memories call, but the future calls louder

Time moves along like the current that flows

Veiled from the past, memories like a powder

The further away the stronger it grows

surreal poetry

    Beautiful piece. Well done.

  • So wondrously evocative, using unexpected language, creating images & thoughts that beg us to pause & consider. My favorite line: "to wonder down paths yet discovered, untraveled" Not "wander" but "wonder". Not "undiscovered" but rather already "discovered" though untraveled.

"Love's beauty and pain can be found in its silence," is a beautifully crafted exploration of the intricate emotions and experiences that love encompasses. Kelli Sheckler adeptly captures the essence of love as a force that can both heal and hurt and how it evolves over time.
