I enjoy using Vocal to Raise my Voice
I write also on Medium but Vocal's my Choice.
Yes, writing on Vocal is what I prefer
unless 'systems issues' my attempts do deter.

I prefer Vocal 'cause it's free to read
(for a time Medium really was more my speed)
The good thing is I don't have to choose
I can post something on both so there's nothing to lose.

When I get the banner instructing 'log in'
even though I'm logged in already I try it again-
Then I get the Red Bar of Doom
and my teeth clench while I mutteringly fume
~
As I check on Discord for updates
futilely, then try status.vocal.media even though it frustrates
me to see that it, too, is not working
as my last nerve, now frayed, starts to jerking
~
I know it's not personal- no one's being mean
I should just accept, be grown up; but let me come clean
If I can't access to write, then, too, no one can read
and my work lies there fallow, or just goes to seed.
~
Because the bots will jump in once the platform's online
'Made with AI' will jam 'New Stories' and my stuff dies on the vine
Not tryin' to be nasty, not full of malice or Spite.
Just can't wait until I can once again post what I write.

Certainly, vocal going down as much as it has recently is bothersome. Can it be that a competitor or opponent or maybe a disgruntled former creator is attacking vocal with bots which make the site go down? You just have to wonder what the source is of all these issues with vocal lately. However, I still support vocal and I will not abandon them. I will stay faithful.
I feel your pain. I also write on Medium, and I just started a publication, -"The New Originals" - I am trying to restore the integrity of the platform. All articles have to be exclusive to Medium. I thought it was just me, The Vocal site seems to be down more than it is up. I see someone says Sing it Loud, when I see the dreaded red line when trying to get on Vocal, I sign into Medium. I still think it can be a great platform, and it still pays more per read than a half a cent which you will get for me reading this. Thanks for posting this, I thought it was me.
Ugh it was the same for me for so many hours! I'm glad it's okay now. At least I hope it is, lol
Sing it loud But because k have slowly been trying to slow down on vocal and focus on other things These ‘bumps’ make my decision easier

What a great poem and I too am frustrated when I see the red bar of doom as you call it or the 'something went wrong' comes up on the screen or it takes minutes to save a piece of work when it used to be only seconds.

Ugh. Yup.
That's the most frustrating part of it. AI artists are the only ones benefiting from all of this. Flooding the system and drowning our work before it is seen in all this chaos
