When Cory Got Vocal
Have you?
Didn't stay in his bubble
No, he got in 'good trouble'
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
He prepared for the feat
Did not take a seat
The day that Cory got Vocal
-
He worked with his team
They printed more than one ream
The day that Cory Got Vocal.
-
He was calm and polite
In the midst of the fight
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
He showed the whole world
How we're tossed and we're twirled
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
Didn't waste his shot
'cause once may be all that he's got
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
Read not a child's (or phone) book,
Instead shared cries for help for our look
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
Didn't flinch- showed the rough,
Asked 'How much is enough?!'
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
The record he broke
(It's no shame to be woke!)
The day that Cory got Vocal.
-
He made clear his choice
Now we must use our voice!
The People must now be Vocal

🌹Love the flow of this, Judey <3
Don't bother with Senate chamber. It's booked for the next (now past) 25 hours! Go, Booker! And with substance to boot!
✌🏾
Booker is a true hero whose deed will be only assessed as it deserves some years later. Thanks for immortalizing in in verse, Judey.
This was really fun, Judey. Clever and memorable
This is a poem that has a fun rhythm to it with the repeating line of 'when Cory got vocal'. Good job.
I've been thinking about the phrase 'Good Trouble' since he said it. Fantastic poem, Judey. Thank you for writing about this.
