If Summer Had A Taste
It Just Might Be Blue Moon

If summer had a taste
it just might be blue moon
I proudly wear it on my face
deep in the month of June
The sticky, sweet sensation
would remind me of the day
Memories of our vacation
at the dunes, where we would play

*
If happy had a flavor
it would come atop a cone
Dribbling down my chin
leaving its remnants on my nose
If content could last forever
it would linger, longer on some ice
With one look in the mirror
highlighting my bright blue eyes

*
If sandy feet could save me
well then, that beach was my salvation
Setting my spirit free
And my taste buds with exclamation
