If Only Tears Could Put Out the Fire
Firestorm

It doesn't care
Whether its a shack
Or a six million dollar
Mansion in the Palisades,
It destroys everything in
It's path
Leaving grief
In the ashes!
It doesn't care
Whether you are
An A-list actor
Or someone struggling
To get by
It creates a path
Of pain
And questions why.
Fire its a force
Not to be
Messed with
A monster
When out of
Control
Wiping out
Buildings
And sadly lives too.
Fire,
Blackening the sky
Turning day to night
And night to
A fiery red sky.
~~~
It’s destroying
Everything in its
Path
Turning Lives upside down
If only tears
Could put out
The fires.
so true and so sad. 😢well written.
Wonderful poem Michelle! Nicely done!!! It brings attention to the devastation of these wild fires. We had some in NJ last year and they clouded the skies in Delaware. I couldn't imagine what they have done in California.
It reminds me of the fragility of life and the uncontrollable power of nature. Shocking images on tv these days! Beautiful poem!
A couple people on Medium asked me if you were ok, there is CA with the fires. Send me a private email and let me know if it is affecting you. Great poem and a significant meaning today, Well Done Michelle
Great observation on the catastrophic occurrence fuelled by fossil fuel money. This need not have happened, and it will only get worse while money is fed into buying politicians
