Influence Me

A poem about social media

Influence me.

Feed me words

That mean

Absolutely

Nothing.

Make me hungry

For the things

I'll never have,

Never want,

Never even

Think about

Again.

Push me around,

Make me sway

With desires

Stoked

By invisible

Flames

Floating through

Air and space

And starlight.

.

Give me a second

To unravel

Underneath the

Blue touch

Of influence.

Bring me down

To my knees

So that I can

Appreciate,

Adequately,

The torment

Of wanting what

You've given me.

It's such a tease,

This hunger.

You've carved

A hole in my belly

And I cannot fill it.

This is the

Longest form

Of torture

I have known.

And it buds

At my own

Fingertips.

-Push me around, Make me sway With desires Stoked By invisible Flames- Well-crafted line! The ending was great as well. Social Media sucks! And i agree with, K.B. Silver, AI is ruining whatever enjoyment was left.

Great piece. I'm glad I got off Instagram. It was such a pointless waste of time. The only good thing on there was seeing what was happening in the rest of the world, and now there's no way to tell what's real and what's garbage. AI ruined the world way faster than expected.
