I Would Do Anything For Love
For L.C. Schรคfer's Dollar Challenge - Invention Edition (May/June)

Introduction
The Prompt
I loved her to the point of invention
- Sarah Ruhl, The Clean House
I stumbled across this quote online recently, and it resonated and reverberated something wicked.
Mission: Slightly Inconvenient
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Write me a piece inspired by the quote.

I Would Do Anything For Love
From the initial prompt, I wasn't sure how to approach it, but in the paragraph I found that it was part of, it made perfect sense. I could have written a story about doing something for someone, not for payment or recognition, but purely for their benefit, without expectation of recompense or recognition.
While I have done that many times in my life, I would not want to publicise any of them. I made people very happy, and they returned their appreciation in many forms, so even if I wrote a story, it might stray into things that I have done, and that might be a little too revealing for me, and more importantly, the other person involved.
While I chose the Meatloaf song as the main listen for this, as I wrote, the Hall and Oates song "Do It For Love" came into my mind, so I thought a sonnet would be an idea to share my thoughts:

Love it, Mike, and I LOVE that you picked such an iconic Meat Loaf choon to go with it! New challenge going up today BTW ๐

Amen, brother.
Nice!! Thank you, Mike!!
Ah man! I remember when my mum introduced me to the songs of Meatloaf - hence early jumpstarting my love of RHPS - but this was amazing! So beautiful and heartfelt...You are definitely a serious writer mate... I have no words... it's simply gorgeous...
beautiful words
Ohhh, now I understand that quote! So grateful you provided that whole paragraph. Loved your poem!
Oh, this is wonderful, Mike. Lovely take on L.C.'s challenge <3
Love makes the world go round, but one has to love themselves first. Love can be found in many ways not in just coupling. Good work.
