I Want To Be A Little Bad
And Deny The People Pleaser In Me
Sometimes:
I want to run with scissors.
I want to break the rules.
I want to tell some people where to go and kick them in the jewels.
I want to put my needs first.
I want to cut in line.
I want to say what I am thinking - as it passes through my mind.
I want to laugh at bad jokes.
I want to laugh - as I repeat them.
I want to smack the heads of those who find the pleasure in their cheating.
I want to eat the ice cream.
I may even want some cake.
I want what I want, when I want, and not stress about my weight.
I want to take a sick day.
I want to spend it at the lake.
I want to post all about it on Instagram, and not worry about my fate.
I want to win the lottery.
I want all my bills paid for me.
I want to take the year and celebrate all the things I got for free.
But that's not my life, not reality.
But looky - I'm still smiley.
Cuz - I learned I'm all I need - in that peppy song from Miley

I LOVE the happy feeling of this poem. While it says what we've all thought from time-to-time in a devil-may-care way, it has you "feeling" the possible alternate ending. LOL! Awesome!
I totally get what you mean! Sometimes, being good can be so exhausting. Letting loose and being a little bad can be liberating. Just remember to stay true to yourself and never compromise your values.
