all signs to prove that love's a myth

the brief stinging of a kiss

a faithless daunting found in bliss

from a lover who covers his heart with his fist

some make believe secondhand romance

a stolen third or fourth glance

in hindsight I wish I had simply dismissed

though his smile was charming

his temper alarming

I wrote off the signs of pure narcissist

for reasons unknown

my vulnerabilities shown

chalk it all up to my sick bucket list
