I’m White
White like a blank piece of paper, full of possibilities
White like a blank piece of paper, meaningless until used
An unwritten story
No one notices a plain white piece of paper
It’s not special; it’s not good or bad
It’s just new
It may one day hold the most magical poem
Or a contract worth millions that changes lives
White paper has potential
It may also get jammed in the copier
And ripped to pieces then tossed aside and replaced
White paper is plentiful
Plain white pages hold little value
We don’t ask where they’ve been or where they’re going
White pages are worthless until they do something
Wrapping paper is something even before finding a gift
Recycled paper has already lived an adventure
But not white paper
White paper is nothing until it does something
It may become priceless or it may be tossed aside
Nothing is promised for white paper
