I’m Sorry

A goodbye to you.

The dust has settled and all of the emotions are past.

I was really hoping for a love that lasts.

It didn’t happen, we’re both to blame.

Towards the end, we both went insane.

I mistreated you, you mistreated me.

Who started it first doesn’t matter, let it be.

At the core, we both knew,

That this love wasn’t true.

We tried to hold on because loneliness scared us.

We pried the whole bond; we never really cared much.

Though it didn’t work between our souls.

I wish you well; I hope your life is on a roll.

I’m sorry for what I did, it wasn’t right of me.

I tried to make you something you’re not, now you’re riding free.

While you’re out there exploring yourself,

Remember this and put it on the shelf.

Though you’re heartbroken and processing your life,

You can still make the choice to do what is right.

The end is not here, there’s a road ahead.

Your friends hold you dear, don’t live in dread.

I’m sorry that it couldn’t work out.

I’m sorry for when I’d shout.

I’m sorry that I hurt you.

Live your life in virtue.

When you look up at a shooting star,

Make a wish, get yourself moving far.

I lied when I said I never loved you;

It was my way of basically saying “fuck you.”

I did love you, though at the end it wasn’t true.

I just tried to hold on and maybe spark another boom.

Fair it wasn’t and I’m admitting it.

Despair, it was pretty imminent.

Light your fuse and fly high.

This is officially my last goodbye.

Though we will never see each other again,

I hope you find a way to love another man.

Live your life and find what makes you happy.

Life is too short to keep it crappy.

This is goodbye for the last time.

I hope you succeed in life, even if you wanna trash mine.
