As the Rain Falls
The rain falls, but the world isn’t over.
As the rain falls pouring down in a dream,
The torrential downpour makes a scene.
resemblance of what possibly could have ruined a bond.
remembrance of what’s come and gone.
Old relationships washed down the drain.
Old friendships that my or may not have driven insane.
wet washed out memory of a fragile membrane.
Changing times and ocean tides will never be the same.
As the sun continues to shine behind the clouds,
Nothing is inquisitive in a world buried in doubt.
As the rain pours down and soaks the barren trees of fall,
Pumpkin spice lattes and sweaters, and copious amounts of alcohol.
Nothing and everything, the torment circles down the drain;
Spewing out of a soul and dripping down again and again.
The world rotation continues with its simple spectacle.
Soaked to the bone with self pity as the rain falls.
Rivers roaring, creeks chirping, another reminder.
34 inches, only a day on the timer.
Nothing to stop the ever falling rain.
Nothing to stop the alcoholic pain.
The days pass; another year almost over.
Soaked in treacherous floods and fields filled with clover.
Naked and afraid!
Dark overcast over a seemingly normal day.
Never knowing why it won’t stay.
Sun shine leads to rewinds of times better passed.
Times where the weather didn’t make the world feel like an ass.
A life of pain calls.
As the rain falls.
look up, the clouds of overcast start to break,
Bearing sunshine, and death of past mistakes.
The sun shines vibrant and full force.
A lively scene on this general discourse.
Hope for the future and knowledge that just because on one day it rains,
Doesn’t mean a full life of sobbing pain.
The future so bright, shades must be worn.
Feelings of more whole and less torn.
Life is hard. We lose our sense of reality when all we see is the dark.
But we must know it can be brightened with a spark.
We live this rollercoaster and get drowned in rainy days,
And forget the days, where we just caught some good sun rays.
So lift yourself up. You can do it no matter the adversity.
Positive thoughts help. Kick some ass out there! Slay. Kill em. Tackle the day. Carpe Diem.
About the Creator
Skip Andrews
I have been writing poetry and song lyrics for years. I wish to pursue a career in music. However, with all of my one off poems written, I felt the need to share those as well.
