Dear Diary,
I’m in need of a little distraction
Since I’m feeling a little contrite
This isn’t an overreaction
Regardless, I’m prompted to write
A poem gives me great satisfaction
Creativity helps me to fight
Therapeutic by way of subtraction
In as much as it conquers my plight
Oppression has been my obsession
Notwithstanding I battle depression
