The sermon was about those folks, we’ve all known one or two
Self-righteous people in our midst, all churches have a few
They see themselves the godliest, but most of it’s untrue
The serpent has deceived again a “Saint” without a clue
Conviction grapples with my heart, today it’s someone new
A hateful and judgmental jerk, who’s sits upon the pew
You saw him in the restroom mirror, checking out your “do”
That phony Christian, make-believer, looking back at you
About the Creator
Earl W. Pearl
I’ve been writing poetry (rhyming mostly) since about 2014 and have recently transitioned to writing novels and short stories. My poetry genres are faith, humor, social issues, politics, pretty much any subject matter.
