I stand here at a precipice revealed
for only now I'm brave enough to see
the harm you've done... and now I've built a shield
protecting me from your mistreatment spree.
The broken bones and bruises long have healed
and now's my chance to run, to fly, to flee.
The road that lies before me will be rough,
but forward is the way... I am enough.

What a powerful and courageous poem! Your use of the Ottava Rima form adds such strength to an already moving piece about finding your voice and reclaiming your power.
Wonderful poem, Krysha. The rhythm is strong, just like the message behind the words. Well done.
This should be turned into a song, and used as an anthem. Perfect. In. Every. Line.
Yes!!! -I am enough- Perfect ending to show that, regardless, you'll never give up being you.
I’ve never heard of this poetry form—well done indeed. And you ARE enough. ❤️🕊️
