How long can an echo echo

(echo echo)

How long can an echo echo?

(echo echo?)

(echo echo?)

the vibrations of your lips on my skin slow

into shadows of soft mellowed hertz

(hurts)

flatlining into a silent screenplay

of a distant memory reel

(was it even real?)

In the Sunday box, I confess to Father:

it has been five days since I last came

(you are coming back into the light, my child)

No, Father—the problem is, I’m not

coming at all

(impotent)

Will you be there to clean up this sticky

mess you’ve made of my heart?

(cliffhanger)

This was so brill. Flatlining into a silent screenplay... what a phenomenal line. Great stuff.

Loved the use of homonyms in this. Such longing...
