How important is a lie

When the truth should set you free?

With a lie you could wager to walk with gods

but the truth will rip it all away.

Why would anyone want truth?

The truth will catch that cheating bastard,

but the truth is that you stayed with him.

If we didn’t lie to our selves,

Then none would push boundaries.

But if we spoke truth to our selves,

we’d let go of them.

The truth holds more weight,

surpassing even death.

But if the dead could talk,

then it would be a lie.

I awaken, believing in many things.

The sun is rising,

the grass will grow,

the trees will come back next year,

and I assume tomorrow,

I’ll still be breathing.

But in truth, we cannot know,

So we yet lie in wonder

Waiting for the truth to unfold.
