If I asked, would you stay

drop everything, wrap your arms around me

hide away from the world today,

or must I make it a plea?

Would you say we don't have to leave

turn off our alarms, settle into the covers

have your heart on your sleeve,

and play sick in bed lovers?

Should I ask you to stay,

would you let everything be,

let us waste the day away

and pretend we are free?

I know you are not naive

to how reality hovers,

but does it really hurt anyone to deceive

with lies that no one discovers?
