Her Private Fairytale
Protecting her as she slumbers
She climbs aboard her dreams at the end of her day,
Comfortable in her cloud of solitude,
Peace reigns as she sinks into her alternate reality,
Drifting off into her fantasies.

She dreams in words of wisdom,
Surrounded by letters of calm and security,
Wards that keep her nightmares prisoner,
Protecting her as she slumbers.
**
She hears whispers of her future on waves of rest,
Like a breeze cooling her anxiety,
Stories of past lives filter through her subconscious,
Keeping her thoroughly entertained.
**
Some nights she’s the hero in her story,
Saving herself from the devastation and destruction of man,
Other nights she fights the demons that traipse through her days,
Solving the insurmountable pains she feels in her waking minutes.
**
She rides the sentences to oblivion,
Escaping from the mundane of life,
They ease the betrayal she experiences from those she once trusted,
And cages her strength.
**
As she lays within her story,
She flies upon the wings of her angels,
Sails the seas of excitement,
And experiences life to a degree she’s never found while awake.
**
Perfection carries her through blissful storms,
Showing her possibilities she strives to obtain,
Her dreams are paragraphs of soothing caresses,
Restoring her equilibrium so she can rise each morning to tackle all she receives.
**
Each night as she enters the pages of her book,
She breathes a sigh of relief,
Lays her weary head,
And is regenerated back to the land of the living, stronger than the day before.
**
As darkness reigns, she lays her naked body to rest,
Pulls the story over her to keep her warm,
Sinks into her character and enters her dream,
To live another lifetime as she travels the pages written just for her.
