HEAVEN & EARTH

#

By KomalPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

SHE was stardust, glowing bright,

HE was earth, lost in night.

.

HER footfalls—music, light and free,

HE was stillness, root and tree.

.

HER voice—a choir, a song divine,

HE was echo, tracing time.

.

HER face—so flawless, carved with care,

HE was dust, yet knelt in prayer.

.

SHE danced with light, a cosmic grace,

HE lay in shadow, bound in place.

.

SHE soared where only angels tread,

HE dreamed of her with mortal dread.

.

SHE was morning, rising high,

HE was midnight, asking why.

.

SHE was flight, a comet’s spark,

HE was gravity, lost in dark.

.

SHE was eternal, vast and wide,

HE was finite, tied in tide.

.

SHE shone where he could never be,

Yet HE held her in every dream.

.

SHE was above—too far to keep,

HE was below—too deep, too deep.

Wow, this is such a beautiful and deep poem! I love how it shows the difference between two souls—one full of light and freedom, the other weighed down but still dreaming of her. The words flow so well, and the emotions really hit. Amazing work! 😊✨

Komal Baby, your words are like a beautiful dance between light and shadow. They capture the delicate balance of opposites, where one reaches for the stars and the other holds the earth steady. It's a reminder of how love and longing can exist in their purest forms, even in the vastness of difference. Simply breathtaking.

  • Oh wow, they're like the opposite ends of a spectrum. So different from each other. Sometimes opposites attract but sometimes, they repel. Loved your poem+

I love the contrast here, very compelling. beautifully worded too! Also saying she is stardust makes me think of Carl Sagan, and saying he is earth makes me think of so many religious doctrines. Another powerful contrast.

This was such a creative and mesmerising play between the masculine and the feminine. It was satisfying seeing 'She' Then 'He' For some reason, I can't get away from this line, ' HE was dust, yet knelt in prayer' I scrolled back up just to read it again. There's something unexpected about it, something mysterious... Something... Surrender. Oh I just love it! You deserve a round of a applause 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤗♥️

    So lovely and evocative!

  • This was a beautiful way of showing how opposites attract. SHE was eternal, vast and wide, HE was finite, tied in tide. I especially love this.
