Ghost

the haunting continues to this day

By BrenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

the door

of your empty room

hangs open accusingly;

ghosts of the near past

are everywhere

i loved you

so much

for so long

and then

you were gone;

ghosts of a distant past

are everywhere

you gave me your heart

and then

you took it away

and if i listen closely

i can still

feel the pain;

ghosts of a time we lost

are everywhere

you gave me

your sunshine

your thunder

as well

you took me

to heaven

you left me

in hell;

ghosts of a dear past

are everywhere

you said

goodbye

but you couldn't

say why

the ghost of you

of me

of us

of then;

there will always be ghosts

    Brrr… Haunting! Inspired by The Cure? I love the image and its precipice in front of the room… But this door is open for you too.
