Dear Luna,
It's been too long, my distant love.
Life down here's not been kind.
Please know, I've kept the thought of you
Secure in heart and mind.
~
While turmoil threatens to erase
Our world and all we know,
You've stayed steadfast, unfailingly,
For us, down here, below.
~
And I have missed you, since I last
Gazed on your golden light.
Though borrowed, it still warms my heart
Here on this cold, dark night.
~
Alas, it seems we've all forgot
The lessons that you teach
Of balance, strength and fostering
The souls within our reach.
~
Tonight, I leave you with my vow
As witnessed by the stars
To spread the light you've shared, with all
On this grand world of ours,
~
And to return, to sit with you
Wherever I may be,
As long as life allows me to.
Your Faithful Servant,
Me

I missed this one, and so happy I checked to see if you had any other submission to the Moon Challenge. Just as gorgeous as Dear Luna, which is one of my all time faves! This piece has such a different mood, yet just as emotionally stirring. Beautiful piece, dear friend, and a perfect entry to the challenge! 🩷✨
I thought it was a sequel!! Nicely done Dana. Beautiful imagery and melancholic without being nihilistic <3
Lovely poem
I was waiting for this follow up. It did not disappoint. Beautiful work, my friend. Good luck.
Luna is a lucky moon. such a soothing thing to write about.
Yet again another beautiful one from you. Loved it!
Nicely written, Dana! Your work is always quality.
Dana. You manage to add a feel of a lost soul while still giving beauty to a celestial being (of sorts). I like the addition this is to a previous piece, that tells me there is a personal attachment which enhances this piece.
Lovely Lunar Letter, wonderful words and a great poem from you for the challenge
Oooh, clever linking to that classic poem and this is beautiful sir. Truly spectacular. Love your gentle rhymes and the flow is exquisite. Happy to see more of you around these parts. If I have to write to you, I think I do, I shall sort that in the next day or so. Hope you and the fine lady are doing okay, my friend!
I had a feeling this might be another lunar outing 😁 Good luck!
