Forgotten

I wish I could forget as easily as I can be forgotten

By Laura ToddPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Long time no see

what can I say that's not the stupidest understatement

If you're missing me

remember you have my heart buried in your basement

But you don't say anything

And you're not wearing your ring

You look at me but no,

you're following her gaze right past me

Looking at art, regard me like a statue

so I stand like Stone

You don't feel anything

so I stand alone

waiting

You called me baby

even though I’m older than you

You called me honey

which is clearly untrue

We used to call each other lover

when we had love for each other

Then you forgot what we knew

Is that why you don't seem to know me now

Is that why you won't say my name

We said, we agreed we would still be friends

I am no friend to this game

You called her lover right in front of me

Did you think I couldn't tell

I see right through to what she doesn't see

She'll be forgotten as well
