Following The Fire

Waves Of Light

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

*

the waves call in the breeze, to the moonlight

offering their dance for display

secrets they save until midnight

where the nocturnal creatures come play

the moon sets the tone with its warm glow

the sun hangs around to observe

the shadows and waves, dance on the sand, toe to toe

as the stars through the clouds soon emerge

Moonlight falls from the sky, bright bubbles exploding

floating their way to the ground

into the darkness, foreboding

crashing without making a sound

stealing the show from starlight

smiling while we gaze in delight

the moon sets the stage for the sunrise

releasing the sun from the night

Stealing the stars from our eyes

This is such a sweet ode to the moon… I love the rhyme! Beautiful lines: ‘ the waves call in the breeze, to the moonlight offering their dance for display secrets they save until midnight where the nocturnal creatures come play“🩵
