Flowers

one flower at a time...

Shh -

A secret is passed

from one to another.

I am entrusted

with new information,

That most will never know.

It passes through her lips

Along with questionable insecurity.

Like a flower afraid to bloom.

It's a piece of her soul

broken

and passed onto me.

I take it

and ponder.

Placing it gently in my heart.

Storing it safely,

hiding it from the outside world.

It will never see the light of day,

for all it will see is only the love in my heart.

And she -

She will hear my words

comforting her,

reassuring her.

Turning her questionable insecurity

into confidence.

Allowing her to use me

as her crutch,

Allowing her to bloom.

And I will stand

Strong.

Ready for the next seed I can water,

just by listening

and comforting.

For the world will be more beautiful

with more flowers

and less buds.
